Linux support for Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-series processors has indeed evolved from fragmented code here and there to peripheral-limited experiences but more recently to mainline day one patches where new releases have patches for the same day of relase, this support for newer chips and LINUX classic support for older tech as well is one thing that gives linux a strong hold on usage.
This combined compatibility and stabilty and ease of use is what the public expect in all digital use from mobile phones to tablet pcs to desktop pc’s.

Although many have talked about “the year of Linux” and put that forward for last year and the year before that, It will come when its least noticed.
Why? well because Linux while being very powerful and reliable has no need to beg for attention, no need to boast in and of itself. Yet also who would be boasting since Linux kinda belongs to everyone and its kernel is free? To answer that you have to realise, that’s the best and biggest difference between all other popular operating systems, Is no fat greedy corporation owns Linux, the public owns it, and its increasingly popular from those who just want to turn on a pc and do work to those tinkering experts doing crazy stuff to deliberately break things for testing and improvement,
And yes I think finally we can say it fits the popular catagory today , we all know it was never quite like that.
And you might think well we hear the boasting all the time. Yes we do , but from a general public , since, ill say again its free for use and editing not a big corporation strong hold.
More nuance is added in the mix due to googles android OS being built on a modified Linux kernel, although this Linux edit is acessable, its not acessable in the tradition way, the kernel itself is not directly user-accessible in the same way it is on a standard Linux distribution ,the system partition containing the kernel is typically set as read only and locked down by default. but there are work around’s.
Nvidia never used to be too suportive of linux. As a matter of fact theres that infamous/famous quote from linus torvalds. “So Nvidia , Fuck you!” , he said this after saying the following about Nvidia spport. and claimed “Nvidia has been the single most difficult company to work with” , torvalds main anoyance came from the lack of support on Optimus notebook technology.
The big corporative control need’s to offer thanks and respect for the fact that Linux runs everything.
before the bias kicks in with “oh the fan boy here” yep im a big fan for the philospy and morality of the linux comunity.
and all mentioned with a rather anti amicable middle finger on camera to NVIDIA. All this happened way back in 2012. Now Nvidia fully supports all modern GPU’S, Many work around were being written not buy paid programmers but by hobbyist.
and sure i’ll admit to being a Linux fanboy . but there’s a lot of misuse.

as for AI investments.
NVIDIA (~$4.79–5.34 trillion), Alphabet (~$4.66–4.77 trillion), Apple (~$4.39 trillion), and Microsoft (~$2.74–3.10 trillion).
Other major public players include Amazon ($2.25–6.45 trillion), Meta Platforms ($1.45–1.52 trillion) among some others. investing in AI. and ill make a controversial claim here. all of it will fail.
